After trans girls, here are 3 other threats John McGuire can save us from
Standing up against the .0005 percent menace.
Back in January, the day before President Trump took office, the House passed The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025 with a yea vote from Rep. McGuire. In short, the bill bans trans girls and trans women from competing in girls’ sports. There’s a similar bill making its way through the Senate.
What a relief! The data show what a threat trans girls are to our athletes here in Virginia. According to the Virginia High School League, since 2022 there have been nine—NINE—transgender girls allowed to compete in high school sports in the state.
Think about it. There are only 174,000 student athletes in all of Virginia. Which means there is a 0.0005 percent chance that you or a loved one will have to compete against a trans girl in high school. Clearly, the odds are overwhelming.
Now that Rep. McGuire has stood up against this threat, what can he turn his attention to next?
Here are a few scary things that are even more likely than having to compete against a trans girl:
Getting struck by lightning. (0.006 percent chance over your lifetime.)
Being murdered by a bee, hornet, or wasp. (0.001 percent chance over your lifetime.)
The Earth getting hit by an asteroid. (A whopping 1.2 percent chance in 2032.)
Meanwhile, thanks to the House’s budget resolution, if you’re on Medicaid, the odds that your benefits will be cut are pushing 100 percent.
But never mind that. John McGuire has other priorities, you know?
